I'm reassembling Minor Bros engine for the first time and need the torque setting for the main cap bolts and studs. Please don't say contact Bob. I purchased the manifold to pan from him and haven't received any specs and don't expect to. I can use a stretch gauge for the rods and was told the head go to 220 lbs. Thanks

Weird question, but if he sold you the motor, why would he not provide tech support for such basic questions?

    Fontana specs

I am currently making a builders guide to arias/Fontana/mbr engines for dummies and should be done soon
anybody that wants a copy pm me and ill put you on my list. it pertains to the 8.3 with cast and billet blocks,
and even some of the fat head stuff. lots of pictures and as much info that I can gather. this is in most part
due to the lack of personal phone service from that particular engine builder. hope this helps.

here are some specs I have from a reliable source for the billet mbr block,
    the cast fontanas are different.

main studs 135 ft lb w/ oil
side main bolts 95 ft lb w/oil
rods 90 ft lbs w engine oil
    3 cam bolts 3/8-16 55 ft lb w/Loctite
    7 cam gear .400 long 5/16-18 26ft lb w Loctite
idler stud 125 ft lbs w Loctite
5/8 head studs 225 ft lb
    crank bolt 265 ft lbs
flywheel bolts 120 ft lb w/loctite

I have a cast Arias and the main and side bolt torque specs are that (they are stamped on the pan rail). My KB/Olds are slightly less than those numbers. JW
