straightening cam shaft

Cam shaft was tight when i took it out. Another goes in easily, so i am figuring the cam is crooked. What procedure do you use to straighten the cam shaft?

 

Put it in V blocks and carefully mark it, if you are lucky it will just have a little arch and not an S curve. Gently massage it in a press until it gets better.

 

Chances are 50/50 that you'll even be able to use it after its straightened because it might have a twist in it.

We had one across a Cam Dr. and the lobes were all over the place because of the twist in the shaft.
