I am looking to save some weight on a pro xtreme type door car. I was looking at runny the moroso funny car pan and system 1 30GPM wet sump pump.

I tried searching a little bit but didn't find any real solid info. I know most all PX cars are wet sump but what pumps are guys having the best luck with? Can I bolt FC pan on with pump and run 12-14 quarts of 70wt and be issue free?

I currently have a Dry sump but it is only a -16 to a FC dry sump pan so I can really see how if would hurt and I have 14-16 quarts now. Car runs 3.60s and is only ever run 1/8th mile.

    Thanks,
    Billy Thompson

The PX guys use both the RCD P&P pump and the System 1 pump. Two totally different design pumps but both seem seem to work ok. You should look at the Olson wet sump pan with the kick out as well as the amoroso pan.

Can I use the Moroso Funny Car wet sump pan? It looks nice and clean and simple. Do I really need a kick out?

I'd say you'd have to . All that oil would be up against the cranking not in it. Resistance, cavation.... I'm sure the kick out is only for getting the oil further away from the crank. When we dynoed my sbc with regular cheap deep pan the oil psi was bouncy. We put a massive kickout pan on it and oil psi went up along with hp. Pickup 63hp in a 9200 rpm sbc. That was huge differnce .
