Greg; In the US and Europe, it's 30", In OZ it's 40" because of Dragster vs. F/C vs. Roadster.
As that's your style in NZ, my guess is they follow Oz rules.

This was one of real failures of early US and Europe Pro Comp racing. In those days, .400 was the perfect light, let's say both had .400, and both ran 6.30, the legal 40" F/C won by 10" every time. Aussie's are smarter, they figured it out day One !

    front overhang

Thanks for the reply Bob, well written with the reason, ( as usual ).

We have recently replaced the small front 5 inch wheels with the big wheels and were thinking of making a new front wing that are mounted out the front of dragsters and go the complete width of the front of a dragster.

Have seen a couple on some dragsters in australia done like this, similair to what are been used on the fuel dragster in america and they appear to hang further out the front which i would think exceed the 30 inch overhang.
