Had a port nozzle plug and burnt a piston, first time in 25 yrs. and burnt a piston. It was the first run after the winter, the material could have been in the line. I am considering starting to run a fuel filter. Of coarse the material could have been in the line after a filter from being disassembled.
How many people run filters? Do you run them before or after the pump? Thank you

Big system one with a stainless element. After the pump and before the barrel valve. Clean and check between races. Never had a problem with it, however I have plugged a nozzle because a port line started coming apart. Someone needs to make a Teflon lined hose the same ID as the standard rubber hose so that would not be a problem. The good ridge lines that Will sells are great but my fuel guru feels that they are too small in the ID.

We only use a stainless steel mesh cone the goes into the inlet line on the barrel valve and is held in place by the attached hose's AN fitting. They a re available through RBS Superchargers

    filters

Some people run the big System 1 style filter while many run the drop in SAE screen filter in the main fuel inlet fitting of the BV. Keep in mind there will be a slight restriction in flow, so you will probably need to richen your baseline a few numbers.

Jody - when we first started doing the injector lines, we used -3 lines and saw a slight restriction in flow. Since we have went to -4 lines with an adaptor insert to put a -3 fitting on the end. Randy Anderson has put these on his bench and noticed no restriction in flow compared to a standard rubber style -3 line. I will send anyone who wants to flow test a line a sample to verify this.

    injector lines

I have worked with Goodridge for a number of years to sell a superior injector line to the conventional rubber line set up.

We basically use their 600-04 brake line that has a teflon inner hose with some adapted fittings to put -3 fittings/nuts on the end. The end result is a much more flexible/durable hose that should significantly outlast a rubber hose.

Email my sales manager JB Hudson at jb@dragracehose.com for more info

We use the Goodridge 600-04 hose with stainless fittings. Like I said if you email JB we can get you a quote on a set of line.

    Goodridge

We run all Goodridge lines on our car including the hat and port nozzle lines. I'm sure the injector lines are what Will sells however we got ours direct through Goodridge as we have a contact there. With that said, I highly recommend these lines and you would not go wrong ordering a set through Will. These lines are far more durable than the rubber or hard lines setups and we have never seen any type of flow restriction that was mentioned above. Money well spent on switching any of your hoses over to Goodridge!

    filter

XRP makes a very nice, compact inline filter. It is a little over 4" long. I run it on my car. Will is right on the port lines. The std -3 line restricts flow. Get the teflon lined hose with the -4 upgrade.
