PSI rev limiter

A mate of mine has a PSI rev limiter with no instructions, how do we wire it?

 

yes i'm wondering also i assume the two wires go to the coil but not sure.

 

Hi Michael, mine only had one wire and we had it wired to the positive on the coil/transformer so that when it reached the designated rpm it's a straight out short to earth..right or wrong thats how we wired ours.

if memory serves me
many years since we ran one
dont take this to the bank but
i think orange goes to + on coil
and yellow goes to the - on coil

as the rev limiter get to a pre-determined rpm
it shorts the coil to ground

I could be wrong but I believe there are two versions of the psi unit. One is for a single mag (one wire) and the second is for a dual mag set up (two wires). We had a twin mag unit but only ran a single mag and were told that both wires needed to be wired to the coil by the manufacturer. Hope that helps if thats part of the question.

 

Make sure you take it apart and clean outr the carbon deposits after every weekend of use. If
you don't the rev limiter will start coming in
to early.
