Hi everybody, I know I'm new here but I was told this was the best place to get legitimate information and answers. We recently broke a 9.5" ring gear in our Strange top loader (this is in a nostalgic top fuel funny car). My question, is it possible to put the Tom's 10" ring and pinion in this rear end. I know it can be put in a drop out style 3rd. member but not sure on the top loader. Thank-you for the responses in advance.

We switched to a toms 10" in a top loader over the winter in our funny car. We Had to build a spacer for the pinion support but that was it.

Thanks for the response Bill. The rearend is currently with Greg Miner getting fitted with his pinion support and a 10" gear set. I do have to say Greg's customer service has been second to none. This forum has made this process easy.

    10" gear in toploader

What are the costs of switching a 9.5" Toploader to a 10" gear? I assume the case needs some machining?
What does Tom charge for a 10" set?
We haven't had much luck with our last 2 sets.
    Thanks,
    Marty

Hey Marty, call Greg Miner at 209-329-7570. You won't be disappointed. We just got our rear end back and we are very happy. I beleive he can sell you all the correct parts necessary and give you the needed information.
