Is anyone using T&D Alum Rockers on BAE 8 heads? If so, what valve covers work so the spark plug tubes clear the intake rocker. I've tried BAE Mag and Moroso Sheet Metal valve covers and neither clear the intake rocker. Any suggestions? Reeper

    Clearance

Dent the bae tubes as required and make sure they don't spin with silicone.

    Tubes

    Hi,

Noel Manton makes some chromoly tubes that are smaller in o.d. You have to file off a little of the plastic fins on the spark plug tubes but those tubes are supposed to be a big help.

    Best wishes,
    Trev

I put the intake rocker in the mill and machined them to gain the clearance I needed.

Man I don't know if I would of done that. Some springs are 1200 over the nose. I have broken those rockers before and never ever would machine down an intake rocker. I broke tip of one and turned it into a valve spring installer. Wasn't cool!

I run the same combo and had to modify the rocker arms to make them work , also had to clearance the push rod holes for the size of push rods.

We ground out the block and the heads, but it wasn't enough. The right side of the rockers has a lot more meat on it than the left, which is where the contact was, and where they were machined down. Even with all that, they still hit the tubes... We've resorted to 7/16" push rods now.

I use the BAE valve covers , the stock tubes are pretty soft aluminum and self clear in one revolution, lol . Sounds like a barnyard way of doing it but I did now know it was a issue until I took the cover off and saw the pushed in parts from the rockers . They were not really that bad for hitting , I have 1.75 rocker ratio on intake and exhaust , maybe the higher ratios are worse for clearance.
