    Plug block offs

Yes you need a gasket. I took the metal spark plug seals off of some old spark plugs for my block offs. I do not tighten my block offs any tighter than a regular plug. I do recheck them for tight when I take the valve covers off. Just my .02

FYI, Marc White ran 5.50's at 3 out of 5 national events 11 years ago in 2004 in my TA/FC with 16 spark plug BAE 5's with block off plugs in them.

    Plugs

So I found out from RBS who called Enderle (who manufactured these plugs) and they said some people use gaskets and others don't. I tried calling NGK to see if I could just get gaskets but no calls back yet, too much work to get them off of used plugs. You would think they would sell gaskets with these if they were a requirement.

Damn tight ass..... Just go to advance and buy the cheapest plugs that have the same dia as a 6061 and bogart the washers off of them. Throw what's left In the trash.

    Plugs

Lol, Jody I already did and they asked what make and model?....I told them NGK 6061-10 or -11's they said what the hell are those?

Also I am very broke as I just bought $1,000+ worth of stuff and had to pay the attorney since the VA forgot to.

Onto the good news all I need is a few fasteners and pushrods then off to Mike's and she is finally done.

    Block Off Gaskets

    Hey Trev,
I have some used lawnmower spark plugs that still have the gaskets on them if you want them. Might save a couple of bucks or so.

    Plugs

    Hi,

I appreciate that but I have 8 used NGK plugs here its just a pain to get the gaskets off of used plugs. I will have to cut the threaded portion off since the gaskets crush in on the threads.

I just realized I may have some very old but new plugs for the hemi fuel heads which should be the same....ha ha

    Thanks again,
    Trev

    Car

    Hey Tim,

Its all certed and all the parts are coming in save the pushrods and a couple of nuts and bolts.

I am planning on going to Frank Hawley's for my super comp license in June or July and then if I can ever get Rich Shafer to give me a call back and I can get permission from NHRA to get my Top alcohol license at a PDRA event in Bradenton on Oct 1st. Then we may run the Heads up madness race in Oct and we would definitely run the snowbirds in Dec.

Its going together as we speak. I took the front wheels apart today to paint the centers and tomorrow I will be painting the wing and getting a few parts carbon dipped then its just waiting on parts to come back from repairs, inspections, and re certs.

We should be firing in a month or two during a huge party and I will send you a video clip of the firing.

Now for the fun part: you can always use old or new plugs with gaskets already on them instead of those fance hex bolts :p
