Can anyone figure this out ? Fresh motor driving me crazy

    regarding the cold cylinders, is there a chance the plug wires are hooked up to the wrong cylinders, either at the plug or mag cap?

    Check leak down test on cyl.look into piston ring package,not enough ring end gap?

    Ring End Gap

    I agree that if the ring end gap were not enough and then when heated would close up and bind the pistons BUT if you looked at the cylinder wall you would probably see some heavy scoring or something to indicate ring bind. Use a bore scope to see inside the cylinders.

    It was the wrong rings, The pistons in my motor have the same size ring top and Second ring for some reason, The guy that freshened it was not the guy that built it originally and didn't catch it considering it was just thousandths difference, so the rings was twisting in the piston is what it looked like when we tore it back down.. It's all back together and in the car and ready to go. Thanks for all the help
