    guess don't need it;;my flywheel starter hasn't not started car;;just the "cool look" of the blower starter;can anyone set me up with a list of parts i'd need to shop for;;been on line searching and haven't found anything telling how to build one BUT did find a old post on here where someone was asking about a older starter they had about what batt volts it needed and one replays was that brand of blower starter they used just a 50's or 60's ford truck[gas ]starter on it;;

    The blower starters made by RCD use aircraft starter motors and are either 36 volt or 48 volt. The big problem you would have is with the dog engagement. The RCD has a wheel on it that is turned by hand to engage the dogs before you hit the starter trigger then once the motor starts it was releases the dog and it moves back. Don't see how you can do that with a car or truck starter motor. It would be far easier to wait until somebody sells one cheap on RacingJunk or ITA classified.

    Contact Gregory Whitney in Arizona whitney.gm@gmail.com. He will sell you a starter complete ready to go or sell you one right off the airplane and give you instructions on how to modify it. Pretty simple if you have access to a lathe and mill.

    X 2 on Greg. Sent several RCD to him for rebuilds. All " cheap " starters should be sent to him to be checked.
