Inspecting the crankshaft the other night, I discovered a crack in the #6 rod journal, goes from the edge in about 1/2", and all the way through to the lightening hole.

So, I'm looking to replace it.

KB 426 Hemi Stage 5 block, current crank is a (Stamped) Hummel 3.850 (Etched) Precision Crankshaft Grinding Inc (Ground) B.W.2500

I'm considering Bryant, Winberg, and Ohio Crankshaft. Any others to consider? I understand that Bryant and Winberg are top of the line, what are your thoughts on Ohio or the others?

    Thx,

    Bill

I would never run an Ohio crankshaft. Google the problems they have had. Even on this board people will tell you to stay away

    Thanks for the reply,

Does Velasco have a website, or do you have a known good number for them?

    Thx,

    Bill

Absolutely no to Ohio.... I'd lean towards a winberg if I was buying new.... but there's nothing wrong with a Bryant, crower or velasco ...that's my 1.5 cents... Merry Christmas Bill!!

    Crank

So I have always heard of the 3, Velasco, Bryant, or Winberg.

Bryant seems to be the most common from what I have seen but I have a Winberg here and a buddy Likes it, He says it has more meet in the spot where they normally crack (Guessing he means the fillets) I will be comparing it to my Bryant soon since I don't recall what it looks like compared to the Winberg.

Curious as to if anyone has seen a benefit from one to the other as I will be buying a brand new cranks soon. (Bryant vs. Winberg)

    Thanks,
