Ok I have a rock 12 volt battery. It's pretty heavy. I want to get a smaller battery but don't want to spend 1200 for braile battery. I just need one because I'm only running the command module. I fear a motorcycle battery won't take the tire shake. Also have a very small crew and don't want to charge the battery every pass. Every night would be ok. Any help ? Is the super expensive batteries worth the weight loss?

I use their 11.5 LB battery and it works great. I also use two of the 11.5 LB Braille in parallel to start my car with 12v from a remote battery pack. The battery goes for about $160 at Summit.

I have run a small motorcycle battery for years. They stand up well in my car, I have 1" of soft foam all around it in the battery box. Seems to last 4-5 years and really only need to charge it once a day although we have gone the whole weekend without charging.

    11.5# Braille Advaned AGM

We run (2) of these batteries on board. In parallel to start and one battery to handle everything else. Seems to be working fine BUT you must charge every pass or two.....

Look into Antigravity batteries. I put one in a quad earlier this year and so far I have been impressed. It is a lithium ion battery so it weighs ounces not pounds. I got the 12 cell one and I used it to crank my quad over for 4 - 5 times longer than the old one would without it missing a beat. They do want you to use a special charger for it, but so far I have used a standard charger twice just to make sure that it was full and I have had no problem. It is more money than a standard ATV battery, but when I get my car running I will be using one for my computer.

I bought mine from Octane Toy Box 425-505-3573

They also have a battery booster that is the size of a smart phone, and so far I have been just as impressed with it.

No I do not work for either company.
