385 c.i. small block, 6-71 with two alcohol carbs. Can i use the rev limiter on 7-al3 for burnout and launch without damage to the engine?

I've seen it done for years against limiters. I've seen a handful of belts break doing it, not sure if the limiter caused the belt breakage.

WIth practice you won't need a limiter. Squeeze onto pedal, control RPM. It gets pretty easy.

    Hi,

Its basically like a 2 step. I use one and it is harder on belts but it shouldn't hurt anything else. Your engine will fatten up a bit because you are killing spark to random cylinders. This may not be as noticeable on a carb deal (I'm not sure) but on a mechanically injected blown alky deal they spray fuel out the pipes.

    Hope that helps a little,
