    Hi.
Our Lenco drive transbrake steel floaters keep warping and have a little colour on them.
It's got me stumped what is going on.

We don't leave with to many revs. Only about 3500rpm.

Always make sure we are stopped when engaging forward to reverse.

Using lucas semi synth trans oil.

Car was still running and working when we pulled it down for maintenance
It has only done 10 laps since the last set of transbrake clutches.
Which is not enough others are getting a season and then some.

Please help. I have just about given up
Ready to go back to the pedal clutch. And cs1.

    Thanks Wayne Talbot.

I don't have a Lencodrive but learned some things with our Bruno. The main thing we have learned with the transbrake and synthetic or semi synthetic ATF is that if it has a friction modifier additive to make it more slippery then we will burn up our transbrake band because it can't hold it. Maybe the same thing applies to your clutches. Some synthetics have these friction modifiers and some don't. Most Bruno users have found that the best synthetic ATF is the Redline Lightweight Synthetic ATF. This stuff is great and doesn't burn up the band, reduces the operating temps, and can stay in for a long time. Maybe you should try it instead of the Lucas ATF.

I don't remember what the clearance is supposed to be on the brake clutch pack, but it sounds like it may be too tight and not letting enough fluid in to cool the clutches. Snyder always recommended Mobil 1 Synthetic and thats all I've run in mine. Checked the pack before going to Norwalk in July and clutches looked brand new after approx 30 laps. I run a 7.00 index so may not be stressing combo as hard as you. I think Mick does also recommend a Lucas product now, not sure if its what you're using, though.

We are setting the air gap between .090 and .100
This is what Snyder told us.

A well known Lencodrive racer told me to use lucas.
He is getting a season from the transbrake.

My only theory left is when the car shook it shook the bosh relay and it momently activated the trans brake but I'm not sure about this cause it only shook a little.

I just no that I didn't hit the button.

Any idea what the flash point of the redline ATF is? I seen that they had a higher temp version on their website but neither lists a flash point. Thanks.

I would do what Snyder recommends,
Ive never seen anything run as hot as a Bruno and the redline lightweight stays happy in ours all season.

Is the car creeping when the brake is on. We've only hurt our transbrake clutch when the battery voltage was marginal and the clutch wasn't holding.

Everything was fine on the last run.
Just pulled the car down for routine maintenance and found the transbrake steels where not straight anymore.

We have came to the conclusion that Shake triggered the relay on off quickly and burnt up the trans.

We are going to a heavy duty button and stretch cord and running no relay.
