Roots Enderle Idle Egt

    1471 hhr littlefield bbc. Delta is centered on intake. Each side, from front to back, has 3 hat nozzles, 4th is plugged, nozzle in the blower, next nozzle hole in the blower is plugged, then one pointed down in the back of the blower.

    5 and 6 drop below 400 at idle while 7 and 8 will get close to 900. Front four around 700. This is after richening the barrel valve one full turn to control temps better. I also added 2 to the rear most blower nozzle but it didn't do much, might have even cooled off 5 and 6. Front hat nozzles are 52 down to 48 on the back.

    Egts on 5 and 6 don't recover until well into high gear according to logger. Wondering how much I'm leaving on the table?

    Changing the hat nozzle size will change all the EGTs for all cylinders because the hat fuel is mixed with the air and flows to all cylinders. Everybody has this problem and you just have to find a middle temp and live with it.

    It is far more important to have the EGTs closer during staging

    Since I stage at idle and go wot on the 2 step, 5 and 6 go cold to colder and take awhile to recover. I guess a bypass would help. How do I know how hot is too hot on 7 and 8 at idle and on the 2 step?

    An average EGT at stage is 625*. Yes a two step bypass will help.
