headers

    Wondering if there is any way to stop headers from cracking on a pro mod car every weekend were out they seam to form a crack? Is there something that can help this? Material, bracing??? Thanks

    Where are the cracks at ? The flanges should be mig welded . There was a thread on here about a year ago asking same thing. Mig welding flanges seemed to be the ticket. The bottom should have a brace top and bottom. And after about 2 years they just get worn out and crack . I've had mine for 3 and yes I have to weld them every weekend.

    They seam to crack right at the flange then once you weld they crack at the edge of the weld not sure if the two step causes these problems or what??

    if your headers are mounted via anything but the heads they will crack. i used to have this porblem but it vent away after i removed the supports on the chassi for the headers.

    Can we tig it with silicon bronze rods ? How does it take the heat ? I'been told this braze material is more forgiving than regular tig rods with vibrations.
