I am trying to find out what seems to be the trend on tire pressure today. We have been running around 5.75 but are looking for more bite everywhere. Some have told me to try 7 - 7.5 psi.

What are most guys running for maximum bite.

    Nos tire is 6.5 max.
Blower tire is 6.25 to 6.5
But I'm curious with more air makes roll out larger and wheel speed is gonna slow down?

Im running the 17/34.5 x16 I guess thats what they consider the NOS tire.

I need more bit out around 150ft where power comes in.

Everytime I have rais. the pressure to about 6.25 it seems to have a little bit more bite at the hit and less everywhere else going off of DS rpm numbers .

I searched this forum pretty good and found a few tire pressure threads but no really solid info.

    Tire pressure

There are 2 part numbers for that tire, one is used for NOS cars and the other is used for Blower. The difference is in sidewall thickness if I recall. On the blower tires I have friends who ran extremey well with between 5.5 - 6.25 lbs as a reference. I have seen teams play hell using the wrong type of tire for the car. 18970 and 18980 I think are the two part numbers, may have to call Hoosier and ask if there is a way to tell them apart once the sticker is off of them.

    Hope that helps a little,
    Trevor Sherwood

We are running the 17/34.5 which is the so called NOS tire or SPINNER as others call it. I know a few PX teams that run this tire over the "Blown" tire but still looking for info as to where max bite is with pressure.

each tire works best for each track and temp
