pulleys

    So wats the difference between 14mm and 14mm gt pulleys and belts? I see some sites offering Kevlar belts in 14mm and Carbon in 14mmGT.

    Go up on RCD's website and there are pictures showing the difference. The top of the teeth and the valley are more square on one and rounded on the other. If it is a GT it is usually stamped on the pulleys

    Don't forget about htd pulleys in 14mm. Htd and gt pulleys and belts work together in a bind.

    Ok thanks. So, after looking at the belt cross section dimensions it would seem a GT belt should only go on a GT pulley, and same with HTD? So to go from a 1610 belt in Kevlar to Carbon, a set of pulleys is also on the list.

    gt v htd

    Mike, its more of an issue to run a htd belt on a gt pulley than the other way around. We ran gt belts on htd pulleys for ages. The best belt to run is the 1600-84ps-gt belt. What overdrive you going to?????

    Only at 20 over Jason. Thought this was gunna be an issue for Spud............ Maybe not

    thought he`d be running more od than that, pretty fast car considering. Those ps belts are tough as just don't let the crew play with them and bend them backwards !!
