Let's say a person wanted to extend the length of a PSI screw blower snout, forward further away from the case leaving the case where it is, what options are out there [Need some extra clearance up front, long story....]? Is there anything off the shelf, or am I into making custom stuff? Thanks.

How far do you want to extend the pulley? They make spacers for the pulleys if you don't need to extend it to far.

I know a few people tried to use a spacer on the mini snouts with longer pins etc.... pins kept breaking one lost a upper pulley, didn't work very well

Have a PSI mini snout at the moment. Could change. In a perfect world I'd like 2 inches more. In less than perfect world I could live with say 1.5 inches or more. I hate to move the whole compressor case forward. It sits nicely where it is. I guess I could, but I'd rather not. Thanks.

I've heard only thru rumour that PSI has a 1-3/8 offset kit for the mini snout. Is this correct? I might be able to use that, or at least use it as a foundation for a further extension design? Thanks.

    Apparently they do.

I moved mine using a DMPE damper hub, bolted the coupler straight to it, turned up a 1" spacer for the mini drive to front cover, had 2 x 1 inch longer bullet proof gun-drilled shafts made ( One is spare if this works for you - photos available )

Yes PSI do have this kit, But dont have any in stock, may take several months to make one, I purchased the plans off them for the spacer for the mini snout and the spacer for the quill shaft, (can still use the standard length quill shaft then). I then made the items.

    extension

PSI made mine, only took a couple weeks

it extended the mini snout out to make a "B" same as a "D" as far as belt alignment goes
    it's close to 1.5"

Has anyone tried extending the snout of a PSI screw (C or D with billet cover) by an appreciable amount like people do in the roots supercharger world? I don't typically see people doing this (because they usually don't need to), and was just wondering whether a person would run into front cover stability issues or not? Not talking huge offsets here, maybe 4 inches max. Obviously would require custom machining & shafts. Don't want to have an external brace or cuff to hold the extension "up". Tyring to package accessory driven devices while clearing cam drive belts at the same time. If anyone has gone down this type of extension path, would appreciate some feedback. To all of the people who have responded on & off line so far, thanks!
