problems with band coming off on bruno??

    anyone else have this issue ?
    not only during tire shake .
    made a good run ,,,and go up for another run to find band off
    we put it back on and about 5 to 15 runs later off again

    Please describe what you mean by the band coming off? Have you talked to Bruno about this and if do what did he say. I am interested because we have two cars both with Bruno's but haven't had it happen to us

    what i mean

    we would make a good pass
    service the motor
    start car and the band for t.b does not hold
    take back cover off Bruno and find it off thepins
    we popitback in place and works great for 10 to 20 runs before coming off again

    I took 3/8ths end mill and made a deeper detent (maybe .150" deep)in the band for the pushrod to have a little more secure center to push against. Ideally a ball end mill would be even better, but I never had any more problems after doing this mod. Securing the band on the mill was a little tricky but other than that about a two minute operation.

    There is a procedure that Bruno recommends. I think it is to turn the adjusters in all the way tight and then back tehm out one turn but not positive on that number. I'll be talking to him tomorrow and I'll ask again.

    According to Bruno on a NEW band you turn them in until you just can't rotate the drum then back them off 3/4 of a turn. Just discussed this with Bruno last Friday

    Update

    We found the well known racer that updated our pump put a turbo 400 band in it..i got one from Bruno and anite and day difference

    I think the Bruno band is a modified Ford band but not sure.

    I think its a 4l80e band
    the lugs are a little bigger
