cooling lines in back of blower question

I just upgraded to a 14-71 from an 8-71 on my 526 BBC. I run it in a top sportsman nova. As far as the fuel lines that run to the back of the blower for cooling, is it possible to get a 90 degree fitting into those ports instead of going straight up. I ask because I run an 8" cowl that is only opened up around the hat and covers the back of the supercharger and magneto. Or do I just need to get out the grinder and cut out more of the hood in that area.

 

Just get a hose with a 90deg end on it. That should work.
