Do these pumps require a manifold go between the pump housing and an outlet fitting block or can that block be mounted right to the top of the pump? Seems all I've ever seen is a manifold on the top even if the side outlets were blocked off. Thanks.

    fuel pump

Depends on what you are using the fuel block for, mine came off the 3 wat fuel shut off, and was plumbed back to the inlet or tank

The top of the Waterman pump where the OUT line to the BV is weak and I would not recommend attaching a fuel manifold there. The best place is off the side of the pump where the shutoff is.

I replied with a picture earlier but apparently that has to be approved by a moderator before it will show. This is on an EFI application and I don't need that square manifold I see all the time with the outlets on each side then a separate ORB outlet on the top. I just want to bolt the ORB outlet right to the top of the pump, eliminating that square manifold. What I'm basically wondering is if that manifold was necessary for some reason? The outlet ports on that manifold would only be plugged off in my application so why have it is my thought.

We ran our waterman without the manifold and didn't have any trouble. We had to remove it for more room, we ran the pump bolted directly on the front cover with no pump extension. So to clear the blower belt and idler pulley we removed both manifolds on the inlet and outlet.
