what download cable do i need for the msd 8973 box???

    i'm puter illiterate, what cable do I need to ask for at radio shack???

    Simple serial cable. Probably USB on the computer end.

    9 pin serial cable and yes unless you have an older computer you will need a USB to serial adapter

    thanks everyone for the replys. heading to radio shack tomorrow to get it and to try and figure out the 8973 box a little better.

    same question but different cable ,lol,what is used to connect the 8973 to the 2 pins on the 8105 coil (where the rev limit chip plugs in normally!)

    are you saying the 8973 it to far away from the 8105 and the wire will not reach the 2 step plug? If so .. I have cut the wire on the 8973 and run a shielded cable to extend it to the length I needed to reach the points box I will put a good connecter on the 8973 spliced end like a weatherpack. works great have done this for years and never any problem.

    I called electromotin They made up what I needed and shipped it to me the same day, then there is never a question about a splice, juss my 2c

    altered1 I'll agree with you on that , good answer. Race car wiring is one of the things I do so making that cable is easy for me. but you are correct if you don't have the right stuff Dave at EM would be a perfect choice.
