new to the blown alcohol racing..hopping to finnaly take my altered to t&t march 22nd but concern i may over rev eng on my burn-outs so thinking i'd be best to use a burn-out limiter;;is there one out there that will work with my air thottle launch control???or should i sell it and just go plain cable to hat and then i can use the one that good vibreations sells that just clips over cable..hate just keep changing things but trying to make car easier and safer for me to learn to drive it..can't afford broken parts trying to learn to drive it..had a few say just go by feel but they have serval years exprerance over me so comes easy for them to come out of the water at a controlled rpm..i'm used to having to hold line lock and floor the car to get enough heat in slicks with my street driven pro/street cars and been told with the altered i don't want to do a burn out that way and not needed to be done that way because i'm not trying to do a burn out with a 4000lb 400hp street car anymore..

    long term

your best bet long term is to just learn how to do the burnout on your own.

if it's a clutch car, roll through the water box, stop and bring the motor up to about 4000, dump the clutch (in high gear) and leave your throttle foot right where it is. don't chase it. if it isn't enough rpm, just adjust in the next burnout (next run), don't try to 'fix' your first burnout with more throttle.

if it's an automatic, on the jackstands, put it in neutral and bring it up to 4000 rpm. get a feel for where the pedal is and how much travel. it usually doesn't take much on a blown car. this is what you are going to need for throttle travel for a 'roll and punch.'

to do a 'roll and punch' burnout, once you roll through the water (in high gear) you can pop it once about half throttle then come back to less than quarter throttle.

it's better to have a few flub burnouts learning, then once you learn, you shouldn't have a problem enjoying one of the coolest things you can do with your clothes on. and you won't be reliant on a throttle stop that someone has to remove every run, burnout rev limiters (which I don't think exist for a super mag), etc.

get a feel for shorter burnouts around 7000-7500. as you get a feel for it and you want to do a longer burnout, you usually have to gradually feed a little more throttle to it to keep the burnout going (on a good track).

I have an air launch control on my blown car also. I made a throttle limiter. Here is a picture of it. the limiter is the 'square' portion under the launch controler.

On a good track, that is about 7500 rpm of throttle. On a lousy track, i wack it and then back off the throttle some.
