What are you guys running for oil pressure gauges? I keep killing liquid filled Autometer's. I have to mount it on the back of the blower/injector so I can see it because my altered body doesn't have room to mount it on the steering hoop like most funny cars. I know that's part of the problem but I just thought I'd get ideas

Had the same issue when mounted to blower, Autometer liquid filled and would knock the needle off. I called and asked if they would consider a permanent attachment method, no dice. The fix was to make a mount for the gage to a different location away from the blower but where I could still see it.

    crappy oil guage

Had the same problem on our car w/ the autometer's...went to the local hydraulic suppliers & bought a better one that actually cost a few dollars less, and has been working great for 2 years now.

I have a hydraulic shop gauge on my blown small block. I vibrate the juice out of it. The glycerin (?) gets lower each pass, and the cowl (FED) gets coated in it. I don't know what else to try..

I use an electric gauge. The sensor is mounted to the chassis with cushion clamps. Short line from block. Been work in fine for 6 years. Just an idea. Chuck

    Autometer guages

I was killing my liquid filled guages in 1 or 2 passes. I found some items in summit and got creative. They make a vibration dampener "grommet" that goes around the guage (have to open up the guage hole on your mount some). I also made my guage mount a 2 piece deal - guage plate/mounting plate and used those MSD type isolators to connect the two parts. Have not lost a guage since - it's ugly from fires, etc... But works great.

Guess I'm lucky as I have had my Autometer liquid filled oil pressure gauge hard mounted to my blower for three years with no issues.
