Is there a modification for extra oiling to the rear main for a brad block? Also if you use a rcd front cover with the front bearing support in it do you still need the outboard rcd bearing support in front of the lower pulley? thanks z man

If your block has two tapped holes in the back of it ---- there will either be one or two holes in the area between the bellhousing and the manifold. These holes are exposed at all times , not behind the flywheel so to speak -

If you have the RCD with the bearing in the cover you don't need the outboard support ---

If your block does not have two holes --- you can get your block machined for priority oiling from BAE for 175.00

I just ran a #6 line after the filter to the rear of the block. The #4 is for the gauge. Seems to help, didn't hurt anything.

If you have the extra hole in the back, do you run an extra line to it?

Yes , you can run a line from near the oil filter to there ----BAE also sells a hard line to connect the 2 ports in the block if you want to try that , 180 degree deal----- the other feature of priority oiling in a BAE is that each main saddle is drilled to connect to a galley so that you can pick which main bearing you want to increase oil volume to -----you then have to drill the upper half of the bearing to expose the hole --------you can all or one of them -- #1 is not drilled .

as said if you go in the left hand hole looking from the rear of the block and dont drill your uppers you will achieve nothing except maybe excessive oil pressure behind your bearing,
going in the right hand hole will just feed the usual gallery from the other end so there is benefit by getting oil to the rear main quicker

Are YOU drilling the hole in the bearings or are you just using the bearings as they came out of the box ?

if you want to oil from the second gallery in a bae block ie left hand hole as you look at the back of the block you need to drill to open up this gallery early blocks dont have this hole

Z Man -- all the upper bearing inserts that sit in the block--not the cap---have one hole in them to begin with--- when you have a properly drilled block you then drill a second hole yourself to get additional oil in that bearing ---
