I finally got a chance to look at the first logs after the install of my RPM logger. I plan to call Randy on Monday but figured I would ask this now. My flow meter is reading nothing, I have to trouble shoot it. Can I just lightly blow through it to spin the turbine or will this damage things? Is there a way to test the meter without having actual flow going through it? Plus my RPM is reading about 1/4 of the actual RPM. I use a flying magnet and a prox probe for engine RPM, I may have the magnet in backwards, would this cause a low RPM reading?

Everything else is working great! This logger rocks!

yes you can blow thru it and put the data logger in real time to see if it is working

    rpm

all the magnets need to be south facing, won't work with them backwards.

for engine RPM you may have the number of magnets set wrong. You need to specify the number of pulses the pickup will see for each revolution. I use the MSD 4 magnet degree wheel...so the setup is set to 4.

I was wondering about that. Randy set me up with 1 magnet, I assumed he set the logger for the correct setting but it may be off. I didn't do the math on the RPM differences. If the rpm is exactly any multiple off it may be the issue. If not I probably have the magnet polar backwards.

Gives me something to try. :)

Number of magnet setting is important and if you have more than one they have to face the correct way, just found out one of mine was put in backwards....

More magnets is more stable and gives a better reading.

The flowmeter, Randy will help you out with, he is a great guy.
