Has anyone had good, bad or no change with the bushing style roller lifters? I know several companies are making them, but with the oiling system on the hemis, should we be thinking about the needle bearing rollers being up-graded or changed this Winter? I know the rpms we turn and the spring pressures can cause many problems and just want to get some experience or advice here-THANKS! Jim

    Hi Jim,

I don't have a Hemi but a KB OLDS with AJ BBC heads on it. I run the Crower .903 lifters with no needle bearings and have no issue with them at 9200 RPM and around 500 on the seat. I put them in late last year after I had two separate lifter failures due to a broken exhaust pushrod. The needles got stuck in the gear drive and broke the cam bolts. Wasted all my T&D rockers and had to buy a complete set of titanium valves in addition to everything else that got peppered. They cost a lot more but if I had them in when I broke the push rod I probably would have saved five or six grand. Live and learn.

I ran the bushing type EZ roll for years on my Chevy but it actually has an oil system so I wasn't sure on the BAE.
Morel was highly recommended so we switched to them for our hemi.

    Hemi Bushing Lifters

I have heard good reports from Chevy engines, but no one yet has had anything to say about using them in the hemi, so I am just wondering if the oiling system on the hemis does not support the bushing lifters and have yet, to get any lifter companies advice from them either? THANKS for the comments so far! Jim
