Pin buttons

    I have pistons with pin buttons. the buttons has caused major groove in the cylinder walls. Is this a common problem or have I done something wrong?

    Did you check or measure the piston,pin and buttons before you assembled the motor,it could be the pins are too long,I have never had an issue with buttons grooving up a bore !!

    Just to add to the post above you may have a 3.400 long pin mixed up with buttons made for a 3.300 long pin for example , have you changed anything in this area lately ? If you don't know the origin of the buttons it happens .
