Best pro mod head for 14% overdrive

    What hemi heads are most of the fast guys using these days?

    I know what all the top performers in NHRA legal Promod ran in 2013 using the 14.5% OD and the NRE X-1 heads are the top performer. The fastest door car in the world also runs them. Maybe another head will come in the future but that is where it is at now.

    Thanks mike for your opinion. Yes i know that camp runs the nre heads. Going to look at the mbe heads also at the pri show. Dont know why people ever say you can't buy something. This is a america which means everything has a price.

    Well there is a head out there that is great but is not available so there is no point in telling you about it and getting you all worked up. I think we will see more of it in the future but is exclusive right now. The NRE is available and that is what Camp and John ran there 5.64 run with. You cant go wrong with a NRE head, a Manton rocker arm setup and cam.

    Thought parts had to be commercially available? Does this not apply to promod?

    The heads are available, as they're readily available hemi heads from BAE, CFH, NRE, AJPE - this would be for extensive port work and engine development. There are a few very good individuals doing some amazing things, their work doesn't come cheap and exclusivity contracts are in place.
