In the case of a blown motor (typical alky or nitro deal), solid AL block, solid AL heads, fuel system cleaned & pickled............Is there any downside to letting it freeze over winter in the trailer? Had a guy try to tell me that he once left his in the trailer and in the spring every one of his Brooks rods had a crack in it. Does this make any sense at all?

I would never leave your car or any parts in the trailer over the winter due to the moisture/condensation issues when the temperature goes up and down.....
If you have some days that warm up and all the conditions are right you could have water dripping off everything inside and out. corrosion in the magneto etc......
