Which crankshaft spline is the best, PSI or RCD and why? Thanks, Gary

    spline

I've heard positives about both but I think the PSI requires less money in associated oddball stuff to convert.

We just went through this. A couple things to think about. PSI spline is threaded to the end, so you can use your standard crank bolt. The RCD is threaded clear to the first main cap, so you have to buy the 6" long bolt, and it's pricey. On the other side of things, most run RCD timing cover etc. If you buy PSI spline, you'll have to buy some "retro" things like the seal is different and crank gear.

We ended up going w/ the PSI spline. One thing we liked about the PSI is the crank gear is splined too so it seemed like a better design...just personal opinion. The RCD style has teeth or cogs hanging out one side that is driven by the crank hub.

Go to RCD's website and look at the crank gears and you'll get a good view of the differences.

And Robert at Reehl Equipment has very nice pieces to make either work, I highly recommend him.
