Makita great cheap reliable good power. Dewalt better more power more break away torque. Snap on is by far the best. But you pay for it. My choice is dewalt. Amazon has great deals on em. I have em all. Use them everyday at my work snap on will break bolts If your not careful.

For me it would depend on what tasks and what fasteners you are going to use this tool on--- that's why you still see teams using 9.6v and 12 volt impacts for certain jobs on the car--- the amount of torque available is compatible and won't break or strip fasteners ----

must say we have all snap-on and would rather have milwalkee or dewalt or Makita...reason #1..one snap on will buy you 3 or more of the others #2 the batteries suck..and we have over 10 snap-on's and they all suck in the battery department.Dave

Milwaukee, Dewalt or Makita 18V systems are all good, readily available and affordable for the quality rec'd.

I will not buy another Dewalt ever, they had a serious battery problem for a while, in fact i stopped buying them for the company i work for and transioned us in to other brands and used all the many dewalts for trade in to get rid of them.
For the money Makita or Milwalkee is now a much better choice.
I personally have a 3/8" and 1/2" 18vt Makitas and use the dog stuff out of them.
