BAE intake gasket problems

    Having an issue sealing the front an back intake gasket on my screw blown brad. I have been using the foam ones that brad sells. What do all you guys use? Thanks

    I machined a billet aluminum piece that bolts to the block with countersunk screws. on the top side, I put an o-ring groove that meets the bottom of the intake manifold. I just use a small amount of silicone in each corner. hope this helps

    Darren has the right idea, but you do have to make it fit good. Next best is to get the OEM Chrysler type end gaskets and use them with the BAE retainers. Always silicone the corners.

    end seals

    we made a u shaped channel that we screwed to the bottom of the manifold , counter sunk 8/32 screws, its 1" wide on the out side with a 3/4" groove in the center, cut the ends to match the angle of the intake surface on the heads. use the foam gasket that BAE sells or foam weather strip from the hardware store. Has not leaked or blown out and we have burnt pistons in our NFC a couple of times that should have blown them out.

    We just use the foam with the stainless 'manifold end retainers' as you probably know or will find on the BAE website. Only issues we had were when the silicon gasket we use to keep everything together didn't have enough time to settle. The foam is probably compressed close to 0.05" so there's not a lot of room for movement.
