Was starting to get the combo sorted out on my bracket digger, 4.25@166 to the 1/8 at 12% over and pretty tame on fuel and timing. Then it knocked #2 rod out of it.

Looking back at some warning signs, I think it may have hydrauliced. I ran it around with the plugs out the week before and remember this cylinder being full of alky. The pass before it broke the rod, all the plugs came out looking decent, but #2 was dead rich and covered in alky. The video I have of it going on the 2 step, it seems to blow raw fuel out of this cylinder.

So how is it that a single cylinder on an enderle setup (k valve, 10 hat, 8 ports with a check valve) can dump fuel in one cylinder? Compression check on that cylinder looked fine. Plug wire ohms fine. Unfortunately no EGTs on the car yet.

They are going to blow fuel out while on the Two Step and it may not look even. Have you had occasions were the motor wouldn't start or started and died and you didn't back down the motor before starting it again

    Hard start

Yes. The last two passes it was hard to start. I have 18v going to a big dog starter, so it spins pretty fast. It would intermittently slow down a lot. Looking back, it was acting like it was hydrauliced. Couldn't keep it running the first couple times it fired.

Also, when you run the valves are do other things on the motor that require it to be turned do you have the fuel shutoff in the off position so when the pump is turning you are not pumping fuel into the motor

Always have the valve shut unless about ready to start it. I increased hat nozzle size to reduce fuel pressure, anyway the pump saver is set too high? Or maybe my return setup is too restricted? Lit the tires going by the tree, pedaled once, sounded fine but erpm looks Like it might have started misfiring. I lifted again about 2 seconds in, rod broke after I lifted right as I hit the fuel shutoff.

Edit: by the way never heard of backing down anything but nitro motor. Assume plugs out and bar it backwards?

Why are you reaching for the fuel shutoff so soon ?

Not sure what you mean? I aborted the run after pedaling once. Since the run was aborted I clicked neutral, reached for the shutoff and felt the death rattle. I actually thought it was tire shake as the wheel speed was coming down until I got out and saw the oil trail.
