Ralph Freeman rip

It's with great sadness that I am letting you all know that Ralph Freeman died today. Ralph was a passionate racer, crewman, and friend! The racing community was Ralph's family in his eyes. He enjoyed his time at the races and his time with his friends. Those that knew him saw a kind man who would do anything for you, and a person who always had an opinion that he wasn't afraid to share! I've been very fortunate to have Ralph as a teammate for many years. It was with Ralph's leadership that we won the US Nationals! He was with us through the highs of winning and the lows of losing, but he was always there!
He will be missed by all of us! Thanks Ralph for being a friend, first and foremost!

Remembering Ralph,

We will really miss seeing Ralph at the "races". He was a very special person whom
everyone liked and respected. His sense on humor, and his love of the sport will be
remembered by all. Our hearts and prayers go out to the Shields team. It is a great
loss to everyone, especially Duane and Dana, and crew. We were privilaged to have
known Ralph and considered him a good friend. His passing is a great loss to all.

What a unique and likable person, I feel fortunate to have known and enjoyed Ralph. A true highlight of every race was to visit with Ralph and have him set me straight. I will miss that.

 

Ralph was a great guy, one of the truly unique characters I'm glad to have had the pleasure of knowing in the alcohol pits through his days with Chess Bushey, Rick and Brandon Henkelman, and Duane Shields. He also owned a Super Comp car that won back-to-back Division 7 championships in 1997 and 1998. He always told it like it is and made me laugh at the same time.

 

RIP Ralph! I'll never forget those Div7 road trips with Dana and the guys. You will be missed!

Did not had a chance to met Ralph but I know he was probably a good person like Duane Shield is , be good Duane and so sorry you lost 1 of your Buddy !!!!

Met Ralph and Dana years ago at a Divisional race in Yakima when Brandon was driving Rick Henkleman's dragster. Enjoyed many conversations with Ralph in the year since and always appreciated his honesty and his dry sense of humor. A good man and as others have noted a heart of gold. Ralph you will be missed.
