I was reading NHRA's web site and read about the new oil retention pan. Does a company make one of these? Or is it something we should make ourselves? I have been looking for a picture of one to get a better idea.

Anyone know who is using one now that I could possible get a picture from?

    Thanks,

    Shannon

this is something that you will probably need to make yourself since every car is different.

It sounds like you are talking about the belly pan the fuel cars use now. Basically just tin that wraps around the lower frame rails from in front of the motor to the pinion. The NHRA rule book gives a description in the top fuel section.

In some magazine in the last month I saw an article on a new double wall pan being sold. It will take me some time but I will find the article again.

    FYI
IHRA's tech Mike Baker emailed me today and also stated they (IHRA) is also going to adopt this rule for next year also (Oil Retention Pan)
wanted to know since new car is being built now
Ihra is not going to mandate the 17.1 sfi spec on fire bottles from what i was told today

Actually there was an update on those over the winter. They are now 2 pieces of carbon fiber. One piece is the bottom and the side panel. The 2nd piece is a side panel. We have roll the rear wheels up on ramps to be able to remove it and hook up the pro jacks.
