Rear end gear ratio change

    Can anyone tell me how much RPM's I will drop if I go from a 4.29 rear gear to a 4.11? we are 232mph at 9050 RPMs at the quarter mile, 17 by 34.50 goodyears tires

    using your numbers, your tire grows to 37 inches, assuming nothing is slipping.
    So, using 37 with a 4.11 gear your rpm will be 8650. this is assuming you have the hp to pull that gear to 232 mph at the finish line. its not as simple as plugging in some numbers. Tom.

    Thanks so much for the info!!!! This really sounds like a good option to me to get the engine rpm back down were I like it.

    power is not a issue, running a 206D at 70 over, I will just increase the over drive to make up the e.t. if needed?
