Im looking for the specs for a blower belt guard and what is required for:

-What components need to be guarded...barrel valve is assumed...
-Is what is required for Top Dragster different than Top Alcohol Dragster

I have the old school 4 round hole PSI injector on my A-Screw blower...so nothing fancy hanging high and forward of the blower belt.

I looked in the NHRA rule book, but I have been known to over look some print before....

This response is what I have learned from a few groups that issued their own rules for safety....not NHRA rules....

The fuel and oil lines are what need to be protected (I ran our fuel lines inside the blower belt so that they would not be damaged if we lose a belt) so that ya don't get in your own soup if ya break a line...

We have taken out ignition parts when a belt comes off but it's not a safety issue if you damage a coil or ignition wire - no fluid to spill...

    Hope this helps...

From NHRA 2013 rulebook Rev 1, General Regulations, Section 20, page 9, paragraph 1:10 Supercharger:

ALL SUPERCHARGERS: For all Top Fuel, Funny Car, Top Alcohol
Funny Car, Top Alcohol Dragster, Comp, Super Comp, and Advanced
E.T. cars, and E.T. cars running 9.99 seconds or quicker, fuel and/or
oil lines must be shielded wherever they pass the supercharger drive
belt. Either a belt guard or fuel/oil line guard may be used.

Break one belt at 9500 Rpms and you'll figure out real quick that a good guard down both sides of the belt is worth it's weight in gold. A fugging belt tears a lot of shit up when it decides to split the scene.
