Our driver is getting fuel in the face on our front engine dragster. We have two vents on the tank made from AN fittings. We can't find any leaks during the warm-ups, and think that the problem is the vents blowing fuel back.

Anyone know where I can get a shark fin type vent and what's inside of the fin?

    Thanks,

    Denny

Remember that vented nozzles will blow out fuel under certain conditions.

Are your fittings roll over vents or baffled at all? If not I could see them leaking under acceleration, especially if they are located at the rear of the tank. Maybe you could put a pig tail piece of hose on each vent to stop it from leaking.

Your driver would have not liked the 60s-70s.

i too run a blown fed and during shut down after i hit the fuel shut off i notice fuel hitting the visor on my helmet, after checkin all lines and fittings i found it to be the hat nozzels, more specificly the air vent in the hat nozzels. only last for a mere second so i dont find it to much to worry about unless there happens to be more problems at the big end

SAE used to make a shield/deflector that went around the hat nozzles. Basically they were cute round cups with a slot to slip over the lines and they were tied together with a common bar. I forget where they attached.

We had major problems with our hat nozzles on our altered, it will indeed spray you with fuel.
