All of the sudden our bottom rod bearings, specially #2, are being mashed on the radius side. And on the other side of the bottom bearing it is getting wiped pretty bad.

We have never seen this before. Dry Sump 130 psi through the finish line, 70wt, BAE Hemi.

Any ideas of why? Suspected the Rod, but other cylinders show signs of the same thing but not near as bad.

    decelI

the only time the bottom bearing see's a load is on deceleration. typically the two common causes is either lack of oil pressure during decel in the shutdown or in a clutch car the driver not putting the clutch in quick enough to unload the engine. in a converter with a sprag you can pull a gear shifter out and let it over run the sprag, taking the decel load off the motor.

Make sure your engine has oil pressure all the way through the shutdown. If it does, then it's a decel problem.

Occasionally I have seen a bad batch of bearings. i would not think that if it was an out of round issue it would pick on the bottom bearings exclusively.

What is your clearance between the journal size and the ID of the rod bearing ? I have seen excessive clearance do this kind of damage --
