Im wanting to get my high speed lean out working. Right now it is blocked off and im not sure where to start. Anybody have an idea of what type of pill and spring to go with at first?? I like a conservative tune up. Its a 468 bbc 671 blower on alcohol.

    blownbbc,

The first thing I would do is put more fuel in it and max out your 60 ft times. You can add fuel until it blubbers on the top end. If you have a data logger read your fuel pressure after the BV. Then set your HS spring pressure to about 10# under that fuel pressure. I'd start with a 65 jet and start going bigger. Remember as you put more jet into it your fuel pressure will drop. Make sure you check your plugs every pass. If you don't have a logger you will have to find your spring pressure by trial-and-error. A HS should add mph and help your final ET.

I'm sure a lot of experts lurking on this site can add a lot to this post.
    Good luck, Joe

Assuming you already have enough fuel going into the motor, a standard setup for a high speed is about a 60 pill at 52 psi. Depends also on the size of pump, the bigger the pump, the earlier it will open, so the numbers above are based on a 110 pump, if you are running a 990 or bigger, you might want to bump the pressure up to 62 psi (this is behind the barrel valve, of course)
