Add an extra bolt to hold the stands. Use the longest arp bolts possible. Weld the stands together that touch. Saves you from ripping the pad out of the head.

What Jay said! Use the one piece intake stands. Set all the stands up to T&D specs, then weld the exhaust stands to the one piece intake stand. The exhaust stand bolt is usually to short. Measure and order the longest bolts you can use. Should be trouble free after this.

Thanks for info. Do you have a photo of this? This is what I was thinking the weak point would be, pulling out the head. Only planning on turning this motor to 7k but want it as trouble free as i can get it.

All good Info, welding the stands is what you need to do. I also blasted all the black coating off before welding. I think its anodizing, I tried just removing it where the welds were but ended up removing all of it.

The other thing I noticed it the small tool they give you doesn't really set thing where you need. Use the adjustable push rod, valve stem marking method to set your shims.

    Ours are for Dart heads.
Each exhaust has its own piece and bolts to the 1 piece that connects all the intakes.
We have found that its important how/what sequence you tighten the little 1/4" bolt and the 7/16 bolt going into the head. Go back and forth between them gingerly tightening them until there snug, then torque the small one first.

You can create a situation where the 7/16" gets loosened by torqueing the 1/4", been there done that and the carnage was ugly. It happened a couple times before realizing what really happened.

I use longer exhaust bolts then they supply and tap the head as deep as possible.

Ya,this is how mine are with the little 1/4" bolts. I welded the things solid anyways.
