Right, bit of a long winded post but I need to buy right...

OHIO crankshafts, here there are just 'tweaked' SCAT and EAGLE forgings? This true?

Also my brain says go for the Callies Magnum...this is for a 1800lbs altered, 8/71 BDS, glide, revving to 7k, brodix bb3's, t&d rockers, not wanting to rotate the earth, looking for consistent racing in low 7's

Any advice on cranks welcome please.

Spend the $ on the Callies stealth or better.. I don't know where the Mag fits in on the good bad scale. They will give you years of service.

Where is the Stealth on their website? The name certainly rings a bell.

All I know is get a crank thats made of good material because when you need the journals welded you will be glad you did. I'm glad I got a quality crank when I did, welded perfect no issues.

I can only tell you my experience with OC BBC crankshafts. I have a Callies that I have had for a long time and it still works. I also have three different motors that I have used the Ohio Crankshaft cranks in. One is in a NA alky injected 540 BBC (tractor pull). One is in a dragster 526 BBC with an 8-71. I don't run either but I built them. One of my current motors is a 540 BBC with an SSI 14-71 that we run at 45% over in tractor pulling (mini rod) applications. Knock on wood, I have had no problems with any of the Ohio Crankshaft cranks. They have worked for me. Stan and Scotty and the help also are good when it comes to customer service. JW

Call Crower and get one of their non twist forgings. Will do what you want for a reasonable price. We ran one in alcohol dragster with no issues.

Well we do have a callies crank here. It spun a centre main few years back. Been stored right since. Took to machine shop ground it 20 thou still marks. Never had a crank welded before though but this could be an option.
