I agree with John on a part as large as a rear wing....

I manufacture reproduction mouldings for 1960's Chevrolet cars...and before we started re-popping I refinished and re-anodized small aluminum body trim items....to strip them I used Easy-Off spray oven cleaner....it boils, smokes, makes a brown colored liquid and eats the anodizing.....at least it did on clear anodized parts....it's great for small items but definitely have the wing stripped...

Don't Bead Blast any thin steel or aluminum sheet. You will end up with a very wavy surface. You must use the proper media.. DO NOT use sand or glass beads.

After someone on here rec'd to use the Easy-Off oven cleaner, I used it to strip 6 butterflies of there blue color.
It worked great, I do remember there are 2 different Easy-Off cleaners, maybe blue and yellow? the one worked well, the other did not.

    Caustic soda

I know caustic soda will do the trick, but a wing might be a bit expensive to experiment on. I've used caustic soda (drain cleaner) on smaller motorbike parts and with a bit of patience it will give good results. Rinse well after you're done!!!!
