    Is there much difference between a Fowler K11 and a Littlefield LB20 - 1471.

Looking to run 6.00 in a 1900 pound dragster. 540 bbc, billet block, billet AJPE heads, Indy intake, 2 spd glide and 4.10's in a Spitzer TD chassis.

Last piece to order is a new blower and I can't decide. Can't run under 6.00 anyway so I assume a DPME 5 would be overkill and six thou more expensive.

    Blower

Try to get a good used PSI 206D or C,

1-they take a lot less hp to spin
2-really save on the low end of the motor
3-save a lot in Maitenance costs
4-they also make a ton of HP.
5-they are about the same price as a tricked out roots blower

    Just my 2 cents

    screw

I agree with butch, a used screw is the way to go if it's legal.

Just try to make sure you get one with a recent cert if your rules will make you run a certified screw blower. Recert will set you back about $1600 every 3 years. There are some questionable units out there that might not pass recert, so it might be smart to make that a part of a transaction.

Outside of that, the screw will give you all you need to run 6.00 and then some. It will be easier on parts and require virtually no maintenance vs a roots (tip strips).

If you price the cost of restripping your blower against the recert every 3 years, I think the screw will be on the cheap side.

I disagree with these guys. A good normal retro-hi-helix (littlefield, kobelco, psi, or ssi) 14/71 will give you all you need to run low sixes. I went 6.17 with an old littlefield 14/71 retro high helix on a 509 chevy with 18 deg heads and no real fuel managment and NEVER re-striped it. Plus it weighs less, costs less ( I can put you on a great used NOW) and you can run with almost any group. If you run a screw the only place you can race is the NHRA, ADRL, and maybe the XDRL. None of the outlaw TD races allow a screw to run with the group, that is in an effort to keep TAD cars froming showing up and whiping ass. My roots PSI took 481 hp to drive at 40% over on a blower dyno, a screw might only take 100 hp (some of the tad/tafc guys could put the real number on it). But the bottom line is for around 3500.00 you can get all the blower you will need to run the et's you are looking for, and witha good tuneup even faster.

    Thanks for the input.

I run a outlaw supercharger deal but also want to run IHRA top dragster. 1471 maximum 36 over. I have run a Littlefield 1471 hi helix setback blower was looking for a blower that would make more boost at a lower overdrive.

I love my ssi blower! Makes more and better boost than my psi did. But any good blower psi,ssi or fowler will set you back 8000 to 10000 dollars. And to run what you want too you just don't need to spend that much.

Sorry Andy...a Littlefield is also a good blower.... I don't have any data for a LB 20 but I hear it's as good as the rest. DMPE also makes good blowers but they cost alot more.

Call Brian at Dmpe he has used m4 or m5 he knows of . You can get a used m5 today for 6-8000. Don't buy new. My first m5 went 4 seasons before needing restriped and honestly it didn't make a bit of difference after it was stripped. I had a bone stock kobelco with no mods at 20 over run 6.23 at 2830 lbs! On a Chevy. Those sell for 3500 used
