    Aluim fittings

Both Grainger and McMaster Carr sell aluim fittings. One half couplings or regular couplings. Be sure you check thread on heater as sometimes they are electrical pipe instead of water pipe. Grainger also sell 1" elect water heater screw in (1" elect) heating units that are 1500 watts 110 volts.

What kind of temp gauge are you using in the pan? Why not just use a $60 temp gun? That's all we use and its handy to shoot cylinder head temps during warm up.

    "caution".

Just do not leave the heater on to long as it gets so hot it will burn a hole through your fire proof engine bag. I have experienced this personally. Rich

Eactly why i decided to mount a oil temp gauge so i can see where i'm at with oil temp at all times;;;my ideal is to mount gauge along beside the oil heater plug on frame rail;;my thinking is is i mount gauge inside car and i check gauge to see if warm enough..while walking to front of car to unplug heater may get stoped by another crew member and get side tracked and then forget to unplug..i'm thinking if gauge is located beside of plug then when i look down to check temp and see it's good then i'm already looking at plug also so can just unplug at same time i'm checking temp..
