Mag Valve cover Powder Coating

Has anyone had Mag. valve covers powder coated ? If so how are they holding up ?

Brad does it on a lot of his covers, they seem to hold up very well. If you call Jeremy he could probably recommend someone (don't know if there's anything special/different about powdercoating mag).

Yes, its done all the time. BAE uses my sponsor, Embee Performance. They do powder, ceramic(for headers AND pistons), standard piston coating, and anodizing. They also do a new process that looks like carbon fiber(as can be seen on the Demke/Peen-Rite valve covers).

we have a co here in town that also does the water-graphics carbon fiber

 

What do you guys use to clean oil off them? I used brake clean on my freshly coated valve covers and it wrinkled the coating in 2 seconds.

 

its all in the product.

It depends on who your powder coater is. If they know the application then, in most cases, they will tell you to beware of brake clean. However, Embee Performance will use a special clear that will help with the issue.
