I am coming up on the service life of my 1" lifters in my TFX/Veney Hemi/C rotor.

What lifter has been the best on service life/rebuild-ability out there. Not looking for 100,000 mile life (in 1/8 and 1/4 blasts), but all lifters seem to not be created equal.

How many runs are you getting??

    Thanks,
    ScottRod

im in the same boat. Jesel is highly regarded and 2600.00. A lot of guys like crane which are cheap in comparison and I have a hurt one in my engine so i'm looking for something else.

I ran Isky bushing type with good results in a screw chevy. They are 1250.00

I'm hearing good reports on cam fx and morel. They are both rebuildable.

    service life

a novice question, im building my first blown alcohol engine....how do i know when to change them? do the rollers or body wear? or do people just go by how many passes you have put on them, i guess valve spring pressure and rpm play a part.....

This has been exhausted numerous times on here, you can search for the last go-round. The Jesel is the best lifter, the Morel is excellent also and if your valvetrain is in order it will serve you quite well. Ken at Motorsports Unlimited sells the Morel and rebuilds them. As far as "service life" that's an impossible question to answer. I've seen people destroy a Jesel within 5 runs and the same on Morel. I have ran both, the Jesel's I had lasted for five years or longer, and they're still going (just not in my car). I ran the Morel's for an entire season, 62 runs, and had them rebuilt for like $450 (I think). There was no problems with the Morel's but I figured they went all season, for $450 it's cheap insurance. From a budget standpoint it's hard to fault the Morel.

I don't work for Crower but I just started to run their lifter. Here is their propaganda on their product:

Crower EnduraMax lifters are the latest in our line of highly durable roller lifters. This premium roller series includes "NBO" Needleless Bearing Option and "HIPPO" High Pressure Pin Oiling. The "NBO" is our high tech needleless bearing built to withstand today's severe valve spring pressures and extreme rpms. The "HIPPO" feature feeds oil directly to the roller bearing assembly. EnduraMax roller lifters are available in .842", .874", .903" and .937" OD. The .903" and .937" OD configurations feature an oversized shaft for superior load distribution. EnduraMax roller lifters are proudly made in the USA at our San Diego factory.

Haven't had an issue so far. 500LBS on the seat.

Morel will be releasing a new lifter next month, it's similar in that it utilizes a bushing instead of needle bearings. An awful lot of TA guys use the Morel, it would be a great choice for you. Ken is a sponsor of this site and a great person to deal with on parts, his ad can be found on the left hand side (smaller square/hyperlink).

I run the Morel lifters also, my combo is an MBR Hemi from Bob Minor. So far I've had good luck with them. Are the jesel lifters better.....maybe but at nearly three times the cost they had better be. The deal is with the morrel lifters you can afford to buy two sets and keep a fresh set ready. I shift over 9000 rpms and less than 10500 rpms I run them about 60 runs and then have them re-built. It costs less than 500.00 dollars to rebuild a set if you do as part of your regular maintainace.

I've used a bunch of the Morel lifters in a variety of applications and never had a failure. The blown hemi stuff though I've need tried them in. Which ones are you guys using? The std .903 diameter with the tie bar? I know they have that dual roller exhaust model, too. Any experience with those?
    Thanks,
    Shawn

lifters break a wheel when the valve springs are overlooked in your normal maintenance. . when the spring goes week it allows the lifter to bounce on the cam .. as long as spring pressure stays up, the lifter is kept on the cam and lifters will have a long life

Jody , do you deal direct with Morel for the rebuilds or do you have to go through Minor ? .
